China's semiconductor sector attracts billions in industrial investment funds
Image: Primary China's semiconductor sector is attracting billions in industrial investment funds as local governments and industry leaders accelerate investments in strategic technologies.
Shenzhen, Shanghai and Wuhan have unveiled major industrial fund initiatives and registration updates. Shenzhen's Major Industrial Investment Group and ABC Financial Asset Investment jointly established the Shenzhen Major Investment No.1 Major Industrial Ecosystem Development Private Equity Investment Fund Partnership, which completed registration with the Asset Management Association of China and has a total size of RMB 10 billion.
Wuhan Optics Valley unveiled four industrial parent funds with a combined scale of RMB 18 billion at the World Optics Valley Technology and Finance Ecosystem Development Conference. Leading companies such as ACM Research and Universal Scientific Industrial are participating as limited partners in dedicated investment funds, with AMEC Lingang planning to contribute up to RMB 1.47 billion to a RMB 3 billion semiconductor fund and USI announcing a RMB 50 million investment in an RMB 800 million IC-focused fund.
