Google shifts future Meet room hardware from ChromeOS to Android Image: Primary
Google says it is transitioning its Google Meet room-hardware portfolio from ChromeOS to Android. It says existing ChromeOS devices will continue receiving security patches, stability updates and ChromeOS releases, with recent models working through 2030. Google says hardware partners Logitech, CTL and Asus will gradually end manufacturing and sales of ChromeOS-based Compute Systems in 2027. Android-certified devices can run multiple video-conferencing solutions, Google says.
