Anthropic hires former Google TPU leader for compute team
Anthropic has hired Amir Salek, who led Google's TPU business until 2022, to join its compute team, Bloomberg reported. The hire is part of Anthropic's groundwork for developing its own semiconductors. Salek was a founder of Google's custom-chip program, according to the report. Anthropic has not announced a chip product, manufacturing plan, timetable, or commercial arrangement.
