Meta AI app adds image generation, also powering WhatsApp and Instagram features
Image: Primary Meta announced today it is releasing Muse Image, its first image generation model from the newly formed Meta Superintelligence Labs, as part of the Meta AI app. The company said the new image generation tools also power creative experiences in Instagram and WhatsApp with more features coming to Facebook and other surfaces. Muse Image uses Muse Spark AI reasoning to interpret prompts, search the web for context and plan the image creation process before generating results. The model can work with uploaded photos, tagged friend profiles and trending information on Meta properties. Meta said Muse Image is already powering more than 30 new AI-powered effects for Instagram Stories and image generation in direct chats with Meta AI on WhatsApp, starting in limited countries with more locations planned. The company said it will bring Muse Image to more countries and platforms including Facebook and Messenger in the coming weeks. Advertisers and agencies will be able to access Muse Image through Advantage+ creative. Meta also said Muse Video is in development.
