Report says LG TVs record and retain data during standby

A Gamers Nexus investigation reported by The Verge says retail LG OLED televisions scanned nearby Wi-Fi networks, logged local network and location information, and sent data to LG Ad Solutions. The report says tested sets could record microphone audio while in standby, retain files after internet disconnection, and upload them once connectivity returned. It also describes automatic content recognition using audio and video samples from smart-TV apps and connected inputs.
