NASA-backed tool links fault analysis to spacecraft design

mission Image: Primary
NASA reported that Qualtech Systems demonstrated a workflow that connects model-based systems engineering with fault management during HelioSwarm mission design. The enhanced TEAMS toolset translated SysML v2 models into failure-mode and fault-tree analyses, then generated proposed design updates such as sensor-placement recommendations. NASA said the approach lets designers test fault-management concepts earlier, using models of the hub spacecraft and eight node satellites. The demonstration was completed under a Phase II SBIR effort.
