Google makes sign-language input available first on Pixel 11
Google DeepMind and Android said their SL2T 1.0 sign-language technology is available in Gboard and Live Transcribe first on Pixel 11, with additional devices planned.
The company said the work was shaped with Deaf community participants and that it created an AI Sign Language Advisory Committee involving global Deaf organizations and subject-matter experts. Google and the committee also co-authored an impact report describing the release's capabilities and current limitations. The company said it is working to expand the technology to additional sign languages, sign-language generation and other AI capabilities.
