Geekom removes backdoored LAN driver from legacy support page
Image: Primary Geekom removed a LAN-driver package from a legacy support page after reporting that it contained the Asruex backdoor, affecting A7, A8, AE7, AE8, AX7 Pro and AX8 Pro mini-PC lines. The package was no longer linked through normal support navigation but remained search-indexed, the company said. Independent checks cited in the report detected the malware with four scanning engines. The report says devices were not shown to ship compromised out of the box.
