Localities accelerate cancellations of Flock camera contracts
Image: Primary Secure Justice, a Bay Area anti-surveillance advocacy group, recorded 90 cities and counties ending relationships with Flock Safety in August, according to data reported by Ars Technica. The group counts 214 localities that have dropped Flock since 2021 and says August's total was four times July's. Reported concerns include surveillance, data sharing, expense and alleged police misuse. Flock said new city partnerships had outpaced nonrenewals by about 10 to one in 2026.
