KIMS team reports lead-free ammonia sensor with 1 ppm detection
Image: Primary A Korea Institute of Materials Science-led team reported a lead-free perovskite ammonia sensor that detected concentrations as low as 1 ppm. In tests at 100 ppm, the device responded in 13 seconds and its electrical signal rose as much as 235%. The researchers attribute the response to reversible ammonia intercalation that induces p-type doping, rather than only surface adsorption. The study was published in Small Structures and used antimony-based formamidinium antimony bromide as its sensing material.
