Penn State team demonstrates AI-guided piezoelectric ceramic in energy harvester

Penn State team demonstrates AI-guided piezoelectric ceramic in energy harvester Image: Primary
Penn State-led researchers reported an AI-guided process for identifying piezoelectric ceramic compositions and demonstrated one in a magneto-mechano-electric energy harvester. The selected lead-free composite reached a piezoelectric charge constant of about 440 picocoulombs per newton; crystallographic texturing raised that to roughly 620. The device delivered about 705 microwatts per cubic centimeter, according to the Nature Communications study. The work combined language-model suggestions from prior research with human assessment and hands-on testing.
