Bluecore Energy reports $50 million seed round for floating nuclear plants

Bluecore Energy reports $50 million seed round for floating nuclear plants Image: Primary
Bluecore Energy announced an oversubscribed $50 million seed round, following a $10 million pre-seed round after the company emerged from stealth in July. The startup says it is building small nuclear reactors on floating barges to supply ports and nearby infrastructure. It said it has launched two floating barges and is in formal design engagement with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Coast Guard, with certification dependent on those reviews. Bluecore said the new capital will fund product development, regulatory work, nuclear-fuel purchases and hiring.
