AMD launches $99 Ryzen 5 5500F and $189 Ryzen 5 7500 for budget PC builders

AMD Ryzen 5 CPU Image: Primary
AMD launched the Ryzen 5 5500F and Ryzen 5 7500, two six-core desktop processors aimed at budget builders, priced at $99 and $189 and available at U.S. retailers as of the announcement. The 5500F uses Zen 3 cores from the Vermeer family with a 500 MHz lower boost clock and half the L3 cache of the Ryzen 5 5600, while the 7500 pairs Zen 4 cores with integrated Radeon graphics, matching the earlier 7500F apart from that display output. Tom's Hardware frames the parts as a response to elevated memory prices, noting the 7500 remains tied to the cost of DDR5 on the AM5 platform.
