Microsoft confirms August .NET updates can break WPF printing and PDF export Image: Primary
Microsoft confirmed that August 2026 .NET Framework cumulative updates can cause some Windows Presentation Foundation applications to fail when printing or generating PDF/XPS content using certain fonts, including Calibri. The issue affects Windows client releases and Windows Server versions from 2012 through 2025. Microsoft provided a temporary application-configuration workaround while it investigates a permanent fix. The company warned that enabling the workaround disables protections introduced in the August update and can expose systems to attacks addressed by that month's security fixes.
