Gemini Live could soon let you toss files into the conversation mid-chat
Image: Primary Google is testing the ability to attach files to Gemini Live conversations, according to an Android Authority report published Thursday.
The feature would let users add media or files from local phone storage or import them directly from Google Drive during a live chat. Currently, Gemini Live only supports a live video feed from the screen or surroundings and requires users to switch to a regular conversation to attach files.
The option appears in version 17.43.11 of the Google app, where a new button replaces the screen-sharing control and opens a menu with the attachment choices. The report said the feature is not fully functional and does not yet provide responses based on the attachments.
The interface also does not follow the new neural design language spotted in other Gemini Live tests, suggesting further development is needed. Google's plans for the redesign are not final, and the feature is not available to the public.
