Japanese investment firm Itochu is reportedly preparing to enter data-center development, with plans to build about 10 facilities in Japan by 2030. Reports cited by Data Center Dynamics say the company may invest several hundred billion yen, though no specific amount has been determined. Planned sites include Tokyo, Osaka and Kyushu, with roughly 50MW per facility and annual openings. Itochu reportedly intends to lease the facilities to US technology companies and eventually sell them to third parties.
