Indian startup test-fires 3D-printed cryogenic rocket-engine prototype
Image: Primary Indian startup Othisis conducted a stationary test-fire of a 5 kN, fully cryogenic rocket-engine prototype, according to the report. The engine uses liquid oxygen and methane and was made using selective laser melting, a metal additive-manufacturing process. Othisis intends the design for vertical takeoff and landing reuse. The report says the company has signed memorandums of understanding for payload launches, but it has been operating formally for only two years.
