Researchers report one-pot CRISPR diagnostic platform

Researchers at HKUST and the Chinese University of Hong Kong reported a one-tube CRISPR testing platform called TEMPO in Nature Communications. The system uses engineered DNA primers to delay CRISPR activation until target material accumulates. In reported testing, it reached attomolar sensitivity in a 30-minute workflow, matched quantitative PCR on simulated HIV samples, and produced results consistent with sequencing on 20 human genomic samples.
