Firmus agrees to acquire Benmax data-center fabrication unit
Image: DCD Firmus Technologies has entered a binding agreement to acquire Benmax's Fabrication, Design, and Projects business for AU$300 million (US$213.63 million). Benmax manufactures Firmus's HyperCube modular data-center system, which is being deployed at the company's Tasmania AI factory and adapted for a Melbourne facility. Firmus said the deal will add engineering, manufacturing, project-delivery and supply-chain capabilities; Benmax managing director Scott Polsen will become chief development officer. The transaction would double Firmus's workforce to 340, according to the companies.
