DEG proposes $10 million expansion of Southeast Asia venture-debt fund

January Capital Image: Primary
German development finance institution DEG has proposed an additional $10 million loan to January Capital-managed JC Growth Credit Fund 1, according to a disclosure cited by CrowdFund Insider. The proposal would raise DEG's financing for the Singapore-based venture-debt vehicle to $30 million, following a $20 million unsecured senior loan fully disbursed in March 2026. The fund provides credit to growth-stage technology companies in DEG partner countries across Southeast Asia. DEG said dedicated venture-debt providers remain limited in the region, where companies can use debt to seek liquidity without immediately issuing more equity.
