Judge stays order requiring 14 US agencies to give Apple antitrust documents

A federal special master stayed his own order requiring 14 federal agencies to respond to Apple's document requests in the Justice Department's antitrust case against the company, granting the government a pause while it appeals. Judge Jose Linares had earlier sided with Apple, which seeks records on how agencies weigh privacy and security in smartphone policy and procurement. Linares said the DOJ faces an uphill appeal but that forcing the agencies to do extensive work would be unfair if the ruling is reversed. Apple may respond; the DOJ then has seven days to reply before District Judge Julien Neals decides.
