Santee Cooper has partnered with Google Cloud to deploy WeatherNext 2 and Gemini Enterprise for load forecasting and financial planning. The South Carolina utility said WeatherNext 2 will generate hundreds of weather scenarios in under a minute and produce probabilistic forecasts up to 15 days ahead. It also said a Gemini-based financial model could cut financial-scenario preparation time by up to 75 percent as it plans a $10 billion grid expansion.
