OpenAI faces 30 additional complaints over Tumbler Ridge shooting Image: Primary
Edelson PC is filing 30 additional complaints against OpenAI on behalf of people connected to the Tumbler Ridge school shooting, according to the report. The plaintiffs include teachers, a principal, and students who were in the building but were not physically shot. The filings newly allege that OpenAI aided and abetted the shooting, in addition to negligence claims. The report says the aiding-and-abetting claim requires proof of intent and is likely to face early dismissal challenges; OpenAI denied that its chief global affairs officer was involved in the referral decision alleged by plaintiffs.
