Waymo has put its Zeekr-built Ojai robotaxis into regular paid passenger service in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix after a limited free-ride test, Electrive reported. Riders are initially assigned either an Ojai or an existing Jaguar I-Pace vehicle. The report says Zeekr ships the vans to the United States without connected-vehicle technology, after which Waymo installs its autonomous-driving system in Arizona. A Waymo spokesperson said about 300 Ojais are in service, with thousands more expected in the United States by year-end.
