Report: Nevada authorizes Tesla for up to 5,000 robotaxis
Image: Primary Nevada's Transportation Authority authorized Tesla to deploy up to 5,000 autonomous taxis in Clark County, Blockonomi reported. The permits authorize commercial autonomous passenger transportation and give companies 12 months from issuance to begin operating within their approved fleet capacity. The report says Waymo and Uber's Aviari Services each received 1,000-vehicle limits. Tesla submitted its application in June, and the authority made the approvals official last Friday, according to the report.
