OpenAI rolls out ChatGPT voice for desktop app on Mac

OpenAI rolled out ChatGPT Voice for its desktop app on Mac, letting users talk to the AI and get things done hands-free, the company announced. The feature is powered by the new ChatGPT-Live voice models. The desktop version accepts multi-step instructions such as creating a new thread, making a pull request, and finding the root cause for a bug all in one go. ChatGPT will ask for details if it needs them. Voice mode is also available in Codex via iOS remote access. Anthropic's Claude assistant now has its own voice features for popular apps like Gmail and Slack.
