Chrome reportedly retains Google data after exit-deletion setting

A Lapcat Software blog post reports that Chrome 152.0.7977.83 retained google.com site data after the author configured Chrome to delete site data when all windows close. The author says the behavior was reproduced on two Macs while signed out of Chrome and with DuckDuckGo selected as the default search engine. After a Google search and closing Chrome's only window, the post says google.com cookies, local storage and session storage remained after relaunch. The author says they do not know when the issue was introduced.
