Realta Fusion announced an agreement with Madison Gas and Electric to explore construction of a 200-megawatt grid-connected fusion power plant in Wisconsin in the mid-2030s. The utility also made an undisclosed equity investment, according to TechCrunch. Realta will receive access to interconnection sites, engineering and technical assistance, and financing for the potential plant. The startup is converting a former Oscar Mayer factory in Madison into a research and development facility.
